On July 14, 2020 shortly after 1:45 a.m., officers with the Topeka Police Department were dispatched to the 500 block of SW 5th St. on a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located two deceased victims inside a residence with apparent gunshot wounds. The victims were later identified as Crystal D. Andrews, 37 of Topeka and Mercedes M. Holford, 13 of Topeka.
Topeka Police later released pictures of a person of interest in the homicide. Police are still seeking information about the person of interest and have released an additional video clip.

John Waller’s body was found on June 17, 2019 at 9:44 a.m. inside a residence in the 700 block of SW Wayne. It is believed Waller was killed between June 3 and June 4.

On Sunday, April 28, 2019, officers from the Topeka Police Department responded to the 1400 block of SW 13th in reference to a disturbance with gunshots in the area. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male victim who was deceased. The victim of the homicide was later identified as 23-year-old Dwane D. Simmons.
One person was arrested and convicted but law-enforcement is looking for other individuals that were believed to be involved.

Topeka Police confirm the man shot at a southwest apartment complex Saturday night, has died.
TPD says officers arrived at the 1100 block of SW Hillsdale St. around 8:50 p.m. for a shooting.
When they arrived on scene, they found 25-year-old Robert McKinsey James outside the building shot several times.
He was pronounced dead at a local hospital

A 34-year-old Topeka man is dead following a Wednesday morning shooting in southeast Topeka.
According to the Topeka Police Dept., officers responded around 10:20 a.m. to reports of a man down in the alley behind the 2400 block of SE Michigan Ave. When they arrived, officers found the victim dead from apparent gunshot wounds.
Police have identified him as Zenor Z. Wiggins.

Topeka police on Monday identified the woman who was shot as 28-year-old Keisheona Wilkins, of Topeka who was pregnant at the time of the shooting.
Wilkins was taken to a local hospital Saturday night with serious injuries after being shot multiple times.
