John Waller’s body was found on June 17, 2019 at 9:44 a.m. inside a residence in the 700 block of SW Wayne. It is believed Waller was killed between June 3 and June 4.

April 28, 2019
On Sunday, April 28, 2019, officers from the Topeka Police Department responded to the 1400 block of SW 13th in reference to a disturbance with gunshots in the area. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male victim who was deceased. The victim of the homicide was later identified as 23-year-old Dwane D. Simmons.
One person was arrested and convicted but law-enforcement is looking for other individuals that were believed to be involved.

A 34-year-old Topeka man is dead following a Wednesday morning shooting in southeast Topeka.
According to the Topeka Police Dept., officers responded around 10:20 a.m. to reports of a man down in the alley behind the 2400 block of SE Michigan Ave. When they arrived, officers found the victim dead from apparent gunshot wounds.
Police have identified him as Zenor Z. Wiggins.

2018-90574 Homicide- Baby Fetus
September 08, 2018
Topeka police on Monday identified the woman who was shot as 28-year-old Keisheona Wilkins, of Topeka who was pregnant at the time of the shooting.
Wilkins was taken to a local hospital Saturday night with serious injuries after being shot multiple times.
Topeka police responded around 10:40 p.m. Saturday to the 3600 block of S.W. Skyline Parkway on Burnett’s Mound on a report of gunshots. Once officers arrived, they found a woman suffering from several gunshot wounds.

December 30, 2017
The Topeka Police Dept. identified the victim as Arnulfo Garcia, 30, of Lawrence, as the man found dead inside a burning car at 15th and Hudson.
The Topeka Fire Dept.'s Arson investigators ruled the fire was intentionally set.
An unidentified person approached an off-duty firefighter around 2 a.m. on Dec. 30 at a gas station and told them about a car fire at SE 15th and Hudson, a few blocks away.
Topeka fire crews found the vehicle fully engulfed. They put out the flames, then found a Garcia's body inside the vehicle.

Just after 1:30 p.m. on 10-9-17 Bondderrick Sanders, 23 died in the west alley of the 1500 block of SW Western Avenue.
At the same time, police say another call came in that another man with a gunshot wound arrived by private vehicle at a local hospital. His injury was not considered life-threatening. Police have not released that man's name.
Authorities believe the calls are related. They say it's also possibly related to an earlier call of shots fired near 11th and Buchanan.
